First, here are a few benefits of weight lifting for women:

  • Improves metabolism, fat loss and weight loss.
  • Develops functional strength beneficial for doing daily tasks, and strengthens the cardiovascular system.
  • Tightens up loose skin, especially caused by pregnancy, or simply having shed a lot of weight.
  • Actually reduces the chance of type 2 diabetes.
  • Helps you get a flat stomach, nice shapely legs, and what most women want, which is a banging back side.

The fear of most women that they will get too big using weights is a myth. It is actually very hard for women to build muscle, so women need to conquer that fear. There is a place for treadmills and other cardio, but if you are looking to change your muscular composition, you need to use resistance weight.
