I grew up in a small town up in Humboldt county, in Northern California.

My father was a bodybuilder and my step mother was a figure competitor. I on the other hand was a fat kid until around the age of 18 when I took up training. I weighed in at 135lbs. The weight was due to an eating disorder that almost killed me. Before lifting I took to academics where I won boys state which is top 2% in the country for academics and leadership abilities. Around my senior year, however I took a greater calling. I joined the US Marines, turning down scolirships for academics. Spent the last 5 years in the marine corps infantry. Been to all corners of the earth. Seen a lot of good things and lot of bad things. Seen people at their best and at their worst. What kept me sane through the deployments and long hours was the gym. It’s how I felt with everything. Others choose to drink, do drugs, smoke, etc. I was one of the few to choose a healthy route. I did what most consider impossible in the infantry. Gain and maintain a lot of muscle mass. Due to long sleepless nights, lack of nutrition and meals, lots of sacrifices to ensure I had time to lift. Sometimes it mean’t building my own gym from ammo cans and sand bags or just body weight. I ate what I could and trained any chance I got. I went from 165lbs to 275lbs which I am currently.
On my last deployment I went through probably the hardest time of my life. I was in a dark place and falling back into what I thought I had escaped from. Then a friend of mine showed my Rich Piana. One of his first videos introducing 5% and what it mean’t. It appealed to me because that’s always been how I carried myself. I told myself I would be apart of the 5% team someday. That was over a year ago. I have now been sponsored by 5% for over 6 months. A dream come true and proof that when you set you’re mind to. You can achieve anything. Also, we as people can effect those around us, even when we don’t even realize it. Rich inspired me and saved me from a dark place. Now it’s my passion to inspire and motivate others at any chance I get. We can all change the world and the people around us. One day at a time, one person at a time we can all do our part to change the world.
